FAQ’s
Q.
How long will I
have to wait to see a counsellor?
A.
I will endeavour to see
you within five working days of contact. If you contact by email I
will try to contact you on the same day to arrange a consultation.
Q.
How many
counselling sessions will I need?
A.
Counselling is different
for everyone. I begin by offering 12 sessions. This can sometimes be long enough for the client, but sometimes more sessions
are needed. You can finish anytime you wish you, are not bound to
12 sessions.
Q.
What will happen at the
first consultation?
A.
During our first
consultation I will ask you a few questions about your situation and tell you a bit more about how I work and
how I might be able to help you. Some people find making a note of
things they want to talk about can be useful. I will also be able
to answer any questions you may have. If I am unable to help I will
advise you of alternative services more appropriate to your needs such as an onward referral to one of my
colleagues with differing specialisms. I will do my very best to put you at ease.
Q.
Will you advise
me?
A.
No. As your counsellor I
will listen to you and help you find a way to handle your concerns, by working together and being with you on
your journey. I believe that within the counselling process you
will find your own way.
